I decided to learn more about Veronica Roth, who wrote Allegiant. She was born August 19th 1988 in New York. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She is the youngest of 3 kids, and has a brother and a sister. When she was 5 her parents got a divorce and her mother is now remarried. She started at Carleton College and spent her first year there, she then transferred to Northwestern University and majored in creative writing. She began writing Divergent her senior year while she was supposed to be doing homework. She married photographer Nelson Fitch in 2011. She is now 25 years old. Her first book Divergent came out October 22, 2013 and was an instant hit with not just young adults but also with adults. She sold the rights of the series to Summit Entertainment and filming began in April of 2013. The movie comes out March 21, 2014, it was directed by Neil Burger and the trailer was recently released to the public. Tris Prior will be played by Shailene Woodly and Four/Tobias will be played by Theo James.
Roth has also written short stories from Four's perspective they are called Free Four and they include,before the first book and they include the events that have happened in the current books. She looks as though she will have a bright future ahead of her in writing.
I personally love Veronica Roth. I think her diction and writing style makes her books really interesting. I can't wait to read Allegiant, I just finished re-reading the first books in the series.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love that you included how she wrote her book Divergent in her senior year instead of doing her homework! I never would have guessed that. And I agree that Roth has a bright future of writing ahead of her since her Divergent books were such a hit (and others).
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've never read one of Roth's writing pieces before, I think she must be a great author. It's hard to believe that she wrote Divergent at 25 years old! I'm completely wordless to react to this amazing talent. I'm looking forward to trying Divergent and seeing what she has to offer :)
